Rowing Safety Levels

Level Black:

Docks closed. Private boats may not launch.

Level Red:

No club boats may launch. Private boats at their own risk.

Level ORANGE:

Boats must have 4 oars at a minimum, blind boat bow must be at level 4, 4th year and above rowers only. 

Coached practice: 4 boats/launch, 16 rowers per coach.

Independent rowing in club boats only when accompanied by a launch, up to 4 boats per launch.

Level YELLOW:

Boats must have 4 oars at a minimum.

Coached practice: blind boat bow must be at  level 4, 3rd year and above rowers only.
4 boats/launch, 20 rowers per coach. *Fall season, Novice and Green team may row quad with Advanced level Bow or 8 with coxswain

Independent rowing in club boats: blind boat bow must be at Level 4, 4th year and above rowers only.

Level BLUE:

Boat assignment must correspond to bow person's bow level.

Coached practice: 2nd year rowers only. No more than 6 boats and 20 rowers per coach.

Independent rowing in club boats: Blind boat bow level 3 or 4 only, 3rd year and above rowers only.

Level GREEN:

Open rowing by bow level.

Coached practice: Blind boat bow may be assigned one level up from their bow level.
No more than 9 boats and 20 rowers per coach.

Independent rowing in club boats: Blind boat bow must be level 1 or above.
